We’ve had alot of fun over the years sending out Outer Banks Holiday Cards.
Usually, we send the card out at the beginning of December and should arrive in most mailboxes before Christmas.
Over the years we’ve had folks ask us for an original file of one of these pictures or ask to get on our mailing list. We occasionally send out postcards of the Outer Banks to folks who love being here.
Probably my favorite of these Outer Banks holiday cards is our 2011 card. That year, the creative juices were not flowing, and time was running out. I had an appointment but had a few moments to look at the surf. Fortunately, I had my camera with me and was able to catch this lone surfer in southern Kitty Hawk. Some years it was me wearing the Santa suit but I also recruited my son Drew for the card in 2008.
Almost every year we debate on a few different ideas until it is almost too late. In 2022, we had a long run of cloudy weather. With the window closing to get the card out before Christmas we ended up settling on the below picture. It still turned out pretty good, but we hope to have our cards out earlier in the future.
